Hello Everyone!

I wanted to take the time to introduce myself to everyone as I embrace Manna Fun Friday's along with Josi and with the guidance of Ayana! My name is Amber Sweat. I am a native to Fayetteville, born and raised, as well as my husband who was my high school sweetheart. We have been together for 13 years and married for almost 8. We have been blessed with 2 children, Jacob 5 yrs and Abigail 3 yrs.  I have been a member of Manna since October 2009. I have lived here all my life and never knew how awesome Manna was until 2 years ago! I am excited to be a part of Manna and contribute to this group.

I will be taking responsibility to posting/updating the blog with events. You probably already received and email from Josi. She will be sending event emails each month and reminders on a weekly basis.  If you have a suggestion, or would like to host an event, please feel free to contact me at ambersweat@ymail.com or at 910-308-7932.

Hope to see some of you ladies at a meetup soon! Till then God Bless:)

Thanks so much to everyone who sent in pics or kind words that are in the totally awesome Fun Fridays scrapbook. I absolutely love it. Thank you. I will always cherish the friendships and special times we had here.
I pray the best for you and your families. God bless!

Swap Thank you/ Fascinate-U

Thank you everyone for all the hard work and the donations today. A great success! Thanks so much. I know tons of people were blessed today and more will be as they receive our donations. A special big thanks to those who arrived early this morning to start setting up and to those who stayed after to make sure everything was bagged, cleaned, ... We definitely couldn't have done it without Jennie's awesome help & Christy and the childcare folks. Thank you! I do pray that the clothing swap will continue after I leave in a few weeks.

I also pray that if you have it on your heart to continue Fun Fridays. Now is a great time to answer that call. I am planning Friday events for this Friday (Fascinate-U), next Friday 11 March (Pope Park), and the following 18 March (picnic at Mazarick park) and then we will be moving to Baltimore. So.. if deep down you feel led to continue, please email or call me. Maybe you and friend would like to co-lead.

This Friday 4 March we'll be at Fascinate-U at 10 am. If you'd like to do the class, please email me by Wednesday. (Also if you signed up let me know if you can't go) I need to give them a total & I have to pay for the group together. The class is $4 per child- which includes museum admission.) I set up a class for K-2nd graders (that's the target age- a little older or younger is welcome too.) Museum admission is $3 per child, $2 per adult. Hope to see you.

Several ladies talked to me today about going Friday with younger children- if you have toddlers and don't want to do the class, just go to the museum. Let the kids enjoy the museum and meet some other ladies. The toddler room in the back is a great place for Mom's to chat while kiddos play. There are usually not many people there so most of the people at there will be from our group. Just say hi- you'll be amazed at how much you have in common!

PLEASE call me tomorrow if you signed up and unable to go. I will pay the group total Friday 9:45 and I don't want to pay for someone who is not going to be there.

Summer Camp

I wanted to share info about a WONDERFUL summer camp. My family went 2 years ago when James got home from his a deployment. I highly recommend- absolutely beautiful place, great food, great mix of time for couples while kids having fun and well cared for & family time.
Here's the link:

Any service man or woman, including those in the Reserve and National Guard, returning home from deployment in support of OIF or OEF can come to Sandy Cove with their immediate family for FREE! This includes comfortable accommodations in the Chesapeake Lodge or Pioneer Campground cabins, all meals, recreation and program if scheduled. 5-nights for a family of four would normally cost up to $2900, but through generous donations, Sandy Cove is able to offer this as a FREE gift to military families to help you bond together and relax in a Christian atmosphere. One FREE visit per family.

Clothing Swap 2 March

we do have the date set for the clothing swap. Wednesday 2 March from 9:15-11:30 in the Manna Youth Building. This is a wonderful opportunity to pass along your outgrown, no longer needed items & find some of items you need too- all for free. Well, the only cost is a little of your time- we need everyone to pitch in and help with set up and clean up. We get a lot done in a short amount time by everyone working together. Mark your calendars and start setting your clothes, toys, books aside for March 2nd.

Please pray about if you can help with one of these "jobs" for the swap. none of these are hard. I would like to have ladies "in charge" of sections wear red shirts so it's easy for people to know who to ask if they have a question.
-Coordinate childcare-
–Welcome table
–Boys’ clothes- you won't lay out everything by yourself, just help point ladies to right tables within your area, and adjust tables as you need
–Girls’ clothes
–Maternity
-Books
Toys
Shoes
Misc.

If you would like to contribute but can't come Friday, please let me know how much you'll like to contribute and I'll put money in the pot and you can give it to me later.

The Sgro family is a wonderful large (13 children) family from Manna who are serving as missionaries in Guatemala. This website tells so much more about their ministry. On the 13th I will make a paypal donation from Fun Fridays as a Christmas blessing for their family. If you feel led, you may give me cash or checks towards our group donation or contribute on your own. I'll be at Monkey Joe's Friday & the homeschool meeting Tuesday night. hope to see you!
